The MedEvac Foundation International is an international non-profit 501C (3) charitable organization headquartered in the Washington, DC area. The Foundation assists the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) to represent the Air Medical and the Critical Care Ground Transport Industry.  Since 2005, the Foundation has supported research, education, and outreach programs that enhance the industry’s ability to provide quality medical care and provide safe and effective air and ground medical transportation for every patient in-need.  We fund programs and charitable activities that support AAMS’ members and their families, who serve their communities with pride and commitment and provide life-saving services throughout the United States and around the world.

Mission Statement

The MedEvac Foundation International supports the Association of Air Medical Services,  its members, their families, and the patients they serve by:

  • Investing in and supporting research that improves the quality, safety, and effectiveness of Air Medical and Critical Care Ground Transport programs
  • Developing education and information materials and programs
  • Fostering public support for the Air Medical and Critical Care Ground Transport Industry’s  contributions to saving lives, our health care systems, and our communities
  • Supporting AAMS’ members and their families through scholarships, grants, and other charitable  programs

Rick is an experienced executive with over 20 years of demonstrated leadership in government and the private-sector. His experience includes an extensive background in strategic planning, operations, training, resource management, and human resource management, as well as rotor wing aviation operations, maintenance, and safety programs. Rick has transitioned from the U.S. Army after a very challenging and rewarding career, completing his military service as a Major General. Most recently, he served as the Chief of Staff and as the Director of Strategy, Plans, and Programs for U.S. Africa Command in Stuttgart, Germany. Rick earned a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from The Ohio State University, a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Troy State University, and a Master of Strategic Studies degree from the U.S. Army War College.

Daniel is an accomplished professional with more than 30 years of successful financial management experience with profit and non-profit organizations. Daniel currently provides CFO role for MFI and AAMS. Prior to this role, Daniel served as a Finance Manager for Independent Sector during a period of rapid growth in which the company added tens of Millions of dollars in new annual revenue. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Spicer Adventist University, a Master’s Degree in Economics from Savitribai Phule Pune University, and a Master in Business Administration (finance) from Hood College Graduate School. He also holds the designation of Certified Management Accountant.

Krista graduated from Caldwell University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She has had prior experience working for a nonprofit in New Jersey. Krista worked with AAMS as the Office Manager before being promoted to work for both AAMS and MedEvac Foundation as the Project Manager.

Jolene Chinn Swartz, a trauma survivor, knows the importance of competent, compassionate, and quality medical transport and care. After earning her Bachelors degree in Management, Jolene came to work at AAMS in Administration, Finance, and Event registration.  She also serves on the Board of directors of HandReach, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing much-needed medical care, rehabilitation, and prosthetics to pediatric burn survivors in the developing world.
