The MedEvac Foundation International “the Foundation,” is an international non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization headquartered in Alexandria, VA. Since 2005, the MedEvac Foundation International has supported academic research, studies, and education programs designed to enhance the industry’s ability to deliver high-quality, safe, and effective medical care and medical transportation for every patient in-need. The Foundation’s charitable programs support our industry’s members and their families who provide life-saving services and serve their communities with pride and commitment throughout the United States and around the world; we take care of our own.
The MedEvac Foundation International supports the medical transport industry, its members, their families, and the patients they serve by:
- Investing in and supporting scholarly research that improves the quality, safety, and effectiveness of Medical Transport programs;
- Investing in studies and education programs to help build awareness of our industry, the issues facing our industry, the contributions of our industry members, and the impacts our industry members make in communities around the world;
- Fostering public support and awareness for the Medical Transport Industry’s contributions to saving lives, our health care systems, and our communities; and
- Supporting our industry’s members, their families, and the patients-in-need they serve through scholarships, grants, and other charitable programs.

Cameron Curtis, CMM, CAE, has more than 18 years of association management experience and has worked with a variety of organizations, providing strategic oversight to their meetings and events, domestically and internationally, including Pro Bono Institute, Department of Defense HIV/AIDS Prevention Program, President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Expo, Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions, Regional Airline Association and MilliCare. Cameron holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Theater from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and serves as past chair of the ASAE Meetings & Expositions Professionals Council. Additionally, Cameron holds the Certified Association Executive Designation from ASAE and a Certification in Meeting Management from Meeting Professionals International.

Daniel is an accomplished professional with more than 30 years of successful financial management experience with profit and non-profit organizations. Daniel currently provides CFO role for MFI and AAMS. Prior to this role, Daniel served as a Finance Manager for Independent Sector during a period of rapid growth in which the company added tens of Millions of dollars in new annual revenue. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Spicer Adventist University, a Master’s Degree in Economics from Savitribai Phule Pune University, and a Master in Business Administration (finance) from Hood College Graduate School. He also holds the designation of Certified Management Accountant.

Krista graduated from Caldwell University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She has had prior experience working for a nonprofit in New Jersey. Krista worked with AAMS as the Office Manager before being promoted to work for both AAMS and MedEvac Foundation as the Project Manager.

Jared Hughes is delighted to join the MedEvac Foundation International and brings a decade of experience specific to healthcare philanthropy. First at Compassion & Choices as the Major Gifts Officer, and most recently as the Director of Planned Giving & Major Gifts at Capital Caring Health. He is honored to be a part of the leading organization advancing state-of-the-art innovation in medical transport and continuing education / training for first-responding personnel.
The giving relationships he develops are based on common values and shared enthusiasm for a common cause. With attention towards connecting to people and forming mutually beneficial relationships, Jared is attuned to the marketing and visibility opportunities for corporate partners and professional associations that benefit Association members. He looks forward to hearing survivors’ stories and facilitating their philanthropic investment to improve care for patients and increase safety for transport teams.
Jared loves connecting donors with their passions. He has increased support and built development infrastructure at some of the nation’s top non-profit organizations, including Washington National Cathedral, American University, Phi Beta Kappa and The Points of Light Foundation, where he received The President’s Call to Service Award for Lifetime Volunteer Achievement from former President Bush.
Jared lives in Takoma Park, MD with his wife of 22 years, their daughter, as well as two cats, two parakeets, one Beta fish and 24 koi split between two ponds.

Jolene Chinn Swartz, a trauma survivor, knows the importance of competent, compassionate, and quality medical transport and care. After earning her Bachelors degree in Management, Jolene came to work at AAMS in Administration, Finance, and Event registration. She also serves on the Board of directors of HandReach, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing much-needed medical care, rehabilitation, and prosthetics to pediatric burn survivors in the developing world.
