to Support an Medical Transport Leadership Institute (MTLI) Scholarship
Metro Aviation is continuing its support of the Medical Transport Leadership Institute (MTLI) with its recent donation of $24,000 to provide scholarship support to deserving individuals for another five years. Metro Aviation, based in Shreveport, LA, is internationally recognized for its reputation for excellence in helicopter transportation services.
In making the donation, Metro Aviation President & CEO, Mike Stanberry, said, “Metro Aviation is proud to continue our support to the Medical Transport Leadership Institute. As a member of the Association of Air Medical Services, we feel that it’s important to help produce the future leaders of our industry as these students gain expertise and practical skills through outstanding educational sessions that provides creative thinking and decision-making. Our own graduates are vital to the success of Metro Aviation. Their valuable insight obtained through the MTLI coupled with real life challenges obtained from their experiences after graduation creates a great knowledge base that is a true asset to our operation.”
Chris Hall, former MLTI scholarship recipient and recently appointed MTLI instructor, said, “MTLI provided me with the opportunity to gain greater insight into the medical transport enterprise from leaders representing all facets of this community. MTLI is structured to facilitate interaction and dialogue between instructors, regents, and students in an environment that fosters collaboration and cooperation. As a MedEvac Foundation Scholarship recipient, I have tremendous appreciation for Mike Stanberry and the Metro Aviation team for their steadfast commitment to MTLI and the students that attend. As a new instructor at MTLI, I am honored to have the opportunity to give back to this program and to assist with the development of our up and coming leaders in medical transport.”
“Metro Aviation has established itself as a leader in support of the MedEvac Foundation and its programs,” stated Rick Sherlock, President & CEO for the MedEvac Foundation International. “Their continued support to the Medical Transport Leadership Institute clearly shows commitment to educating those within the industry to the highest standards.”
Metro has supported the MTLI with scholarships since 2009. Stanberry stated that he would like to see others within the industry support the MTLI so that the Foundation can provide annual scholarships to more students. MTLI enhances leadership and management of medical transportation through formal education programs emphasizing management theory and its direct practical application. The Institute provides continuing education and certification for individuals currently managing medical transportation services, those seeking management positions, and others with direct and indirect involvement who desire greater understanding of this dynamic profession.
